Barbecue Grill Safety

Propane tanks in propane grills must be thoroughly inspected before they are turned on. Check for any irregularities or damages such as bulges or dents, leaks or gouges, or evidence of rusting and corrosion. The hose must also be checked for leaks or brittleness. If any of these signs are found, the equipment must be replaced before use. However, never remove the valve of the propane tank by yourself, and do not light matches around the tank because of the risk of explosion.

Charcoal grills must always be used outdoors because they produce carbon monoxide. Plus, a fire extinguisher should always be kept nearby in case of a flare up. Never wear loose clothing around the grill, and never use lighter fluid on coals that are already lit.
