Marble stone top tables are porous and can become easily stained, so it is important to take care of any spills immediately. As a precaution, coasters should be used to keep moisture stains from occurring on surfaces. Periodically wiping marble patio furniture surfaces with lukewarm water will help maintain a clean and damage free surface, but it should be cleaned with a diluted, mild dish detergent at least twice a year for deeper cleaning. Stone soap, which is available at most hardware stores, is an excellent cleaner for granite stone patio furniture, but mild dish washing soap and warm water can be used as well.

Slate table tops are very porous and should be sealed immediately after purchase. Sealing your slate patio furniture will protect it from scratches and soiling. Once sealed, slate should be washed with mild dish detergent and warm water.Other stone table tops can be cleaned with mild soap and warm water. Be sure to check directions and avoid using harsh chemicals for cleaning.
