Sometimes adding style and flair to your yard goes beyond outdoor accessories, outdoor patio furniture, and bird baths. Brick pavers are exceptional accents for patios, walkways, and gardens, plus, installing them yourself is fairly easy and inexpensive. To get started, you will need brick pavers, washed concrete sand to hold the bricks in place, and crushed stone, gravel, road base, or crusher run to create a strong base. A flat shovel will also be needed to lay the base evenly.
First, determine how much of the materials you will need based on the ground you will be covering. Then, prepare the area for paver laying. Use a flat shovel to move and compact dirt into a flat, level surface, and place the crushed stone base on the newly even ground. Lay the brick pavers in your desired pattern, then drive spikes into the ground around the edges to hold the pavers firmly in place. Once the brick pavers are set, smooth in the creases with sand. Add all-weather wicker patio furniture and umbrellas for a final touch of pizzazz.
